Anderson Ranch Arts Center opens “Sculpturally Distanced: an Anderson Ranch Outdoor Exhibition” the week of July 6, 2020. The exhibit, underwritten by Lugano Diamonds, features the work of 17 local, national and internationally-acclaimed artists.

The exhibit is curated by Lissa Ballinger, director of exhibitions and sales for Anderson Ranch, and on display through September 2021. Several pieces are for sale, with proceeds shared between Anderson Ranch and the artists. This exhibition is a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting the Ranch’s agility and nimbleness in the face of sudden changes in programming and public-facing offerings.

“This sculpture installation is one of the most exciting changes to the Ranch campus in years, providing a new and fresh way of exploring and experiencing this amazing gem of a campus. In the middle of COVID-19, it was so important to us that we find a way to keep the community and visitors engaged with the Ranch, art and artmaking. We wanted to create an experience that people enjoy on their own while maintaining physical distancing” said Anderson Ranch president and CEO Peter Waanders. He continued, “It will activate the campus in an entirely new way, allowing visitors to explore these monumental works by very different artists, speaking to different idea and experiences.

Founded in 1966, Anderson Ranch Arts Center is a premier destination in America for art making and critical dialog, bringing together aspiring and internationally renowned artists to discuss and further their work in a stimulating environment that is nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado.
