Moti Ferder, CEO and Design Director

“If you don’t know jewelry, know the jeweler.” –Warren Buffet

Master craftsman and jewelry expert, Moti Ferder, has been immersed in the diamond industry from a very young age. His family’s diamond business, established in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1965, provided Ferder with extensive gemological training allowing him to develop his skills as a diamond cutter. Due to his vast experience from diamond cutting to worldwide distribution, Ferder has broad insight into the diamond and jewelry industries. This knowledge has contributed to his success in establishing Lugano Diamonds as one of the finest jewelers in the world.

Under Moti Ferder’s leadership, Lugano Diamonds opened its Grand Salon and headquarters in 2005 in Newport Beach, California. In the years since, Ferder has built a talented sales team while personally managing all aspects of the company’s business. In 2013, given the success of the Grand Salon, he opened a second location at Montage Laguna Beach in California, an Equestrian salon on the East Coast and International circuit. Our newest Grand Salon opened in the center of Aspen, Colorado.

As design director of the company, Moti Ferder serves as the creative force behind Lugano’s spectacular, one-of-a-kind pieces. His jewelry designs have earned him recognition from luxury publications worldwide. Ferder’s use of zirconium was honored with Robb Report’s ‘Best of the Best’ award, and the publication recognized Lugano Diamonds’ remarkable designs again in its coveted Ultimate Gift Guide. Ferder’s expertise is frequently referenced in leading national and international publications.

Moti Ferder, who serves as a board member for the American Film Institute and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, is deeply involved in the philanthropic community. Lugano Diamonds supports a variety of nonprofit causes, organizations and events including the Mission Hospital Foundation, CASA for Children, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, United Way and The Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders, among many others.
